Luke and I first met in the winter of 2021, thanks to his cousin Jared. The introduction went something like: “Yo, this is my cousin Luke,” followed by Luke’s very enthusiastic “sup” and a head nod. Needless to say, sparks did not fly, and I left thinking I’d never see him again.

Fast forward five months to my birthday—I spotted him a few seats away and figured round two couldn’t be more awkward than the first. One “hi” later, we ended up talking for five hours straight. That night turned into years of laughter, buying a house together, and now planning the biggest celebration of our lives.
